When a strict immigrant mother discovers that her teenage daughter is writing dirty One Direction fanfiction on the internet, it sparks a conversation about their relationship and values.

After her latest prank misfires, Zoe, a rebellious seventh grader, involuntarily becomes the newest member of Service Pals, a club designed by the principal and guidance counselor to give back to the community.
